Tariq Harb

Tariq Harb is the  winner of the First Prize and the Audience Choice Award in the Barrios WorldWideWeb Competition in 2011 and first prize winner in the 2011 Montreal International Classical Guitar Competition.  He is quickly establishing himself and one of the up-and-coming classical guitarists of his generation.  His playing  has been described as  having “exceptional  musicianship and technical accuracy.”  (Dr. Alexander Dunn)  Montreal’s Live Music Examiner’s critic John Weins, said of Harbs playing to be “reaching out with music to touch and feel what cannot be said!”

Past concert performances at guitar festivals in North America and Europe include performances at the Sauble Beach Guitar Festival, Cervo’s Festival Mediterraneo dells Chitarra and Montreal’s International jazz Festival. Mr Harb is scheduled to play in Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw for the Meesters op de Gitaar concert series, with  Costa Rica’s Classical Guitar Festival and with the Amman Symphony Orchestra in his native Jordan.

He holds a Masters in Performance degree from McGill University, and a BA and a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University.  He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Musical Arts at the University of Toronto under the guidance of Dr. Jeffrey McFadden.
